The Kawama complex is a gated community located at the tip of Ocean Bay Drive at MM 100 off US 1 (Overseas Highway ) in the heart of Key Largo.
The Tower building sits right on the Marina (Molasses Reef) and has its own private climate controlled pool exclusively for the use of those in the Tower building (there is an additional pool at the North end of the complex that is open to all Kawama guests and residents).
The condo is down the corridor from the ‘Marina Side’ elevator which exits at the entrance to the pool and to the handicap parking area.
From the pool you can head down toward the pier where you can fish or sit and watch the sunset with a cocktail! There is a private beach with Tiki and Barbeque area and access to the dock for those renting a boat slip. Included in your rental of your ocean view condo is use of the boat ramp and boat parking is also available.
To the west side of the Tower building there is are two Tennis courts and an enclosed children’s playground. Two tennis rackets are provided in our condo for your use during your stay.
There is also a lagoon within Kawama, which is oxygenated and has many fish, it is very good for snorkelling and is particularly popular with divers for night diving. There are swimming platforms in the lagoon that kids really love playing on! There is an additional beach area at the lagoon by the North Pool.
Just down the road is the outstanding John Pennekamp Coral reef state park where you can take a dive or snorkel boat out to see the famous Christ of the Abyss underwater statue, and many other State and National parks are nearby.
Kawama is right next to Dolphins Plus, a dolphin facility where you can book dolphin experiences and swims. We are very close so many excellent restaurants and you can pick up fresh fish to cook yourself back in the condo at Key Largo Fisheries – just a couple of hundred yards from your door.
Parking is available for up to two cars with your rental, and there is a separate area for you to park your boat.
