Key Largo

There is so much to see and do in and around Key Largo. Take advantage of the fabulous local seafood and take in a cocktail at one of the Restaurants & Bars and spend your time relaxing at Kawama. Venturing out from Key Largo you are perfectly positioned to explore North to Miami and the Everglades or drive down the Keys on US 1 to see Seven Mile Bridge and Key West.

Food & Drink

The Keys are justly famous for abundant fresh seafood. Try Stone Crabs when in season, Conch Specialities and the local Rock Lobster. Key Largo has so many excellent restaurants serving seafood, but if you prefer a simple Cheeseburger-in-Paradise then we have you covered on that too! Either way, don’t forget to try the Key Lime Pie!

Fishing in the Keys

If you prefer to be on the water rather than in it then you could charter a fishing trip or join one of the party boats. Night fishing is fantastic in the summer! After a day’s fishing take your catch to any number of local restaurants who will cook it up for you. It always tastes better when you catch it yourself!

Under the Water

Key Largo is the known as ‘The Dive Capital of the World’: from here you can take a dive boat out to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, an underwater sanctuary that offers some of the best Diving & Snorkeling to be found anywhere. The famous Christ of the Abyss underwater statue is a regular stop on many of the snorkel trips leaving from Key Largo Resorts Marina at Mile Marker 100 of US 1. Most of the boats also offer Champagne Sunset Trips.

Wildlife & Sealife

Swim with dolphins! There are a number of places nearby that offer this in a safe, eco-friendly way so you can enjoy the extraordinary experience whilst being sure that the dolphins are being well treated and won’t be harmed. If you have not tried this before then this is highly recommended! Other local Wildlife Attractions include The Turtle Hospital in Marathon, and the Bird Sanctuary just down the road.

On the Beach

There are a large number of wonderful State and National Parks in and around the keys. Bahia Honda, Everglades National Park, Windley Key, Dagny Johnson Botanical Park and of course John Pennekamp just name just a few. Choose from swimming, scuba, BBQ, nature trails, wildlife, kayaking and more!

The Everglades

Everglades park is just a short drive away and makes an excellent half or full day trip. Eco tours of the glades, including sunsets tours, also leave by boat from Key Largo on the bayside.
